Sami Yusuf (born 21 July 1980 in Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian–British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and humanitarian. He gained international recognition with his 2003 debut album Al‑Mu’allim, released through Awakening Records, which sold millions across the Middle East and beyond . Known for his unique musical style dubbed “Spiritique”—a blend of spiritual and world music combining Sufi, folk, and Western elements—he sings in multiple languages including English, Arabic, Turkish, Urdu, Persian, Punjabi, and Azerbaijani . In 2014, he was appointed United Nations Global Ambassador for the World Food Programme due to his notable humanitarian work.
