Orville Richard Burrell (born October 22, 1968), known by his stage name Shaggy, is a Jamaican-American reggae musician, singer, songwriter, and deejay. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to Brooklyn, New York as a teenager. Before his music career, Shaggy served in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour in the Persian Gulf War.
He gained global fame with hits like "Oh Carolina", "Boombastic", "It Wasn't Me", and "Angel".
aShaggy has won two Grammy Awards (for Boombastic and 44/876 with Sting) and is one of the top-streamed reggae artists globally.
